Allison Cara Tolman is an American actress from America. She is best known for her role as Molly Solverson from the FX TV show Fargo in the first season, she has received nominations for the Emmys and Golden Globes. The early years of her life and schooling Tolman was the older of two brothers and a younger sister. The family relocated to England in the age of two weeks, and was in England until she reached the age of four. She spent the following five years in Oklahoma and West Texas, before moving to Sugar Land, Texas. When she was 10years old, Fort Bend Community Theatre began providing acting classes. Clements High School was her high school and she graduated in 2000. Baylor University granted her a Bachelor in Fine Arts with an emphasis on theatrical performance. Following her college graduation, she moved to Dallas in the United States, where she was among the first actors of Second Thought Theatre. After moving to Chicago to study at The Second City Training Center, Tolman moved back to Illinois to continue her studies in 2009. Tolman rose to fame in 2014, when Tolman was a part of FX's Fargo. The show was inspired by the 1996 Coen brothers film of the same name, Fargo starred veteran actors Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman's performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently was the star of the performance".
